Are you drinking from a plastic bottle of water right now? If not, chances are you will be very soon. Because bottled water consumption is on the rise everywhere.

What will become of that bottle when you're through with it? Will it end up at a recycling center or in a landfill? In a perfect world, all the bottles we use would be recycled into more of the same. Maybe someday we'll live in that world, but today, we can't. (To learn more about PET plastic and its properties, please visit our What Is PET? page.)

So we need to do two things:

1) We need to continue increasing the number of PET bottles that are recycled.

2) We need to continue to find alternative uses for all that recycled plastic (reducing the need for other forms of virgin materials).

And that's why we have started Bottles Into Bags.

  By minimizing and reducing landfill size, we can open up space to replant trees, which help clean the air.
